About MWI

Fine art photography is just that for me. There are many names that can be used such as art nude, fetish, glamour, fine art nude. For me it is simply a photograph that tells a story. Whatever the elements to them, each is to me just as important a piece of work as any other. Some might be controverisal, others less so. It is all a part of my journey as a photographic artist.

Using film based photography is much more intimate and visceral and my preferred way of working. It is a much more expensive option but for me by far better results are attained.

There's a phrase bandied about that says, when using film, one has more skin in the game. I agree with this totally, you will notice how film is used differently as the shoot progresses. There are fewer shots taken and more care is taken to make sure things are exactly right before the shutter is pressed.

With film and the traditional methods, there is a magic seeing a silver halide print take form under the dim glow of a safelight. Its also a more hands on process with chemicals being mixed, containers being shaken and prints coming to life.

Do you want to work with me?

To keep things simple I won't dazzle you with lingo, I'll keep it all in plain english.

What happens is, after the initial contact, I will arrange with you to have a meeting in a public place so we can discuss the specifics of what you want to achieve and how it will happen. This will be done in writing and both of us get a copy.

On the day of the shoot, if we are doing any nude, implied nude or lingerie work it will be beneficial not to wear any underwear or tight fitting clothing to the shoot.

This is because of the lines and marks can take upto an hour to go away. I'm sure you'd rather not waste time waiting for them disapear but get on with the shoot.

Make sure you have all the clothes and extras you want to bring with you, including a towel if we are shooting outdoors near or in water. Also make sure to bring an energy drink or similar as doing a photoshoot is physically demanding and you will be stretching and moving in ways you usually wouldn't. Your muscles will ache by the end of the shoot and you don't want to be totally exhausted by it.

WORK PROCESS

The actual shoot will be between one and two hours long, though sometimes it may be a lot shorter, depending on what we want. We will work through taking multiple shots with variations making sure we can choose the best ones. There will be full communication at all times and though serious work the mood will be light and fun. I take my model's safety very seriously and at no time will I ask you to do anything that will endanger yourself or take any risks that put you into harms way. Your safety is the upmost priority on the shoot.

After the shoot, I will arrange a viewing at a mutually convienient time after the shoot so we can choose the best pictures from a contact sheet. After a short time I will send you the prints we agreed upon. You won't be waiting months for your photographs as I only take one project on at a time.

I look forward to hearing from you and working together.
